Welcome to the first-ever West Coast edition of the BYOB/W (Bring Your Own Black & White) non-toxic developing workshop and mixer with MONO NO AWARE and WHAMMY! Hosted by the 818 COMMUNITY DARKROOM.

Everyone who attends will learn how to mix their own black and white developing chemistry using a combination of consumable items from the grocery store.  We’ll go over basic non-toxic processing recipe, then mix a synthesized solution created by Chris Knudsen and Steve Cossman based on the classic Caffenol (coffee) recipe and a beer processing “soup” developed by friend of the org (and master chemist) Dagie Brundert.

We’ll speak to the global movement of non-toxic chemistry and its variants.  All ingredients, equipment, and safety gear will be provided - Bring Your Own Black & White as an exposed roll/cartridge of black and white film, still or moving images. We will also have film dryer's, light tables, and projectors! Its going to be a massive party! You and your film are invited ;) Hope to see you there!
